Description
This is an exceptional clock by Jean-Antoine Lépine, known as the clockmaker of the king. Lépine was a purveyor to the Royal court and is known for many inventions that revolutionised the history of watch and clock making, many of his works are on display in the most notorious museums throughout the world. The quality of the bronzes suggests that they were manufactured by Pierre-Philippe Thomire, who is considered one of the best bronze makers in French history. The size is 35x45 cm. There are some revisions that need to be made for the movement and the bell needs to be reattached with a new screw. Sold as is
