Geneva Collections

 moved to Switzerland as a child. He has always been interested in history, especially the history of Geneva. His passion for antiques came from his grandfather who was a collector.

At the age of 12, Mike started to go to flea markets in search of lost treasures. After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Corporate Finance and working in various international organisations, he continued to pursue his passion until it became his main professional activity.

Mike has worked as a consultant for several Swiss auction houses and has an extensive knowledge of numismatics, watches and antique silver.

 was born in Geneva into a family of avid collectors and auctioneers. His childhood spent in auction rooms and collecting quickly led him to be fascinated by the story each object tells and developed his taste for detail.

A collector of comic books and pop culture items since childhood, he soon became interested in ancient coins. These miniature reflections of societies allow him to touch history with a capital H.

After studying International Relations in Geneva, he was employed for eight years as an expert and catalogue editor in a prestigious international numismatic house.

 met at an auction over 10 years ago. From this long friendship was born in 2022 the Geneva Collections project, a unique platform that opens new opportunities for all passionate collectors.

About Us

Geneva Collections has just opened its office in the very center of Geneva’s old town at cour de Saint-Pierre 5. 

This 15th century house, one of the oldest medieval buildings still standing in Geneva's old town, was recognized as a historical monument in 1964. It occupies a remarkable location at the very spot where the city first began to flourish, long before the days of the Roman Empire.

For a company that places History and storytelling above everything, the choice of location could not be more perfect. 

We’re situated just steps away from the cathedral's colonnade and the archeological site that houses the tomb of a celtic warlord, resting here for over two millennia. We're also fortunate to have an exceptional view from our windows, overlooking the Reformation Museum, that occupies the spot of the chapel where the Reformation was adopted in 1536.

Obverse : Cartouche bearing 6 characters surrounded by dragons.
Reverse : Cartouche bearing 4 characters surrounded by dragons.
Decoration of merit of the Order of KIM KHANH of Vietnam (2nd degree) created by Emperor THANH THAI (1889-1907). It consists of two plates of finely soldered gold in the shape of a ritual gong and decorated with two confronting dragons, clouds, flowers, and flaming pearls. In the center, ideogram characters: 'Nht Hng Kim Khánh'. 
With the original award document and original trimming, which is extremely rare.

Copper fragment from the Statue of Liberty.

 A copper bar with an engraved inscription: in french "FRAGMENT DE CUIVRE DE LA STATUE COLOSSALE DE LA LIBERTE EXECUTEE PAR A. BARTHOLDI 1875-1883 - SOUVENIR D'UNE VISITE AUX TRAVAUX"(COPPER FRAGMENT FROM THE COLOSSAL STATUE OF LIBERTY EXECUTED BY A. BARTHOLDI 1875-1883 - MEMORY OF A VISIT TO THE WORKS.) On the left, there is a shield with Auguste Bartholdi's monogram.

The Statue of Liberty, designed and built by Auguste Bartholdi on a metal frame by Gustave Eiffel, was build in Paris and then transported in pieces to New York. It was subsequently reassembled at its final location and inaugurated on October 28, 1886.
These fragments were given out by Bartholdi to his guests attending the construction works, very few are known to exist nowadays.

Size is 95 x 27 x 2.8 mm.
Weigh is 55 grams.

An extraordinary sterling silver bird with ruby eyes by Tane Mexico. 
This is possibly a Mexican Jay or Blue Mockingbird.
An almost identical bird has been presented to Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of her State Visit to Mexico in February 1983 by President Miguel de la Madrid Hurtado.
The weight is 1039 grams of sterling silver, 22.5 cm high.

In collaboration with Greg Podgorski, Geneva Collections is thrilled to present you our Contemporary January. To start 2024 on a fresh note we've curated an exhibition featuring the works of two talented artists, Maria Kiesner and Marta Kochanek.

Maria Kiesner, known for her architectural paintings, has honed her craft for years. She brings buildings to life with confident strokes, inspired by photographs and urban landscapes. A key moment in Maria's journey was the Villa Richter project in 2015, questioning the role of painting in the age of photography.

Throughout the years Maria's creativity remained undaunted. Her studio, filled with everyday objects, births extraordinary paintings. The presented works transcend representation, leading viewers into a space where associations dissolve into rhythmic abstractions.

Marta Kochanek, on the other hand, paints scenes from the past, using old family photos, ads, and film stills. Merging the 1950s-1970s with the present, she expresses a longing for a slower time. Marta's art aims to evoke positive feelings in pop art style.

In her paintings, everyday moments require no explanations. Groups of people are outlined against white canvases, inviting viewers to engage their imagination. Despite its simplicity, Marta's art radiates warmth, humor, and nostalgia.

Contemporary January

On December 12, 1602, the Duke of Savoy launched a surprise attack on the city of Geneva in the dead of night. The defense of the city by its citizens, surprised by this "Escalade" from their walls, marked a crucial turning point in Geneva's history.

Since then, the people of Geneva have celebrated their victory every year, creating a rich heritage of objects and souvenirs. These include the famous Marmite, used to pour scalding soup over the attackers, which remains the symbol of the population's unwavering resistance to the Duke's soldiers.

Every year, artists draw inspiration from this event to create new works. Today, a wide variety of Escalade-related objects are available, including period coins, medals bearing images of Mère Royaume, the brave soup-pourer, and depictions of the fighting.

Collectively, these objects preserve the memory of the Escalade, reminding us of Geneva's resilience and bravery at the time.


Like every year since more than 400 years, Geneva is going back to the 17th century for a weekend. Come celebrate with us, at Geneva Collections, on Saturday December 9, just in front of the cathedral, in one of the few remaining buildings that witnessed the events of 1602.
