Description
John Lewis Shonborn (1852-1931) was an American artist of Hungarian origin famous for painting horses and farm animals. Born in Iowa, he later moved to France where he exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1877 to 1894. This is a very nice painting of a hose by the name “ Instar “ dating from around 1900. Frame is damaged, the painting itself is in good condition.
