On the occasion of the Fête de l’Escalade — the annual celebration of Geneva’s 1602 victory, which brings the city together for historical parades and the traditional chocolate cauldron — Geneva Collections is hosting an event dedicated to Maps & Geographical Instruments at its offices in the heart of Geneva’s Old Town.
Geneva Collections invites its visitors to step back in time and explore centuries of geographical knowledge through a selection of antique maps, navigation instruments, and objects linked to the history of geography.
From the Renaissance to the modern era, the exhibition presents rare pieces illustrating the evolution of cartography and navigation tools. These objects bear witness to the methods and ingenuity of the men and women who measured, imagined, and travelled the world.
When: Saturday, 13 December 2025, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Cour de Saint-Pierre 5, Geneva
