"VRAYE REPRESENTATION DE L'ESCALADE ENTREPRISE SUR GENEVE PAR LES SAVOYARDS ET SA BELLE DELIVRANCE L'AN 1602 XII DECEMBRE" Very rare engraving attributed to François Diodati (1647-1690) around 1667. The view of the city under the assault of the Savoyards is surrounded by numerous vignettes representing the events of the night of December 12, 1602 as well as a history since the arrival of the Reformation in Geneva in 1535. The list of Genevans who died during the night completes the picture. The vignettes constitute a reference for all subsequent representations of the events. Excellent condition.
