BONHOMME Matthieu. Original plate from the album Texas Cowboys, volume 1
2012
Description
BONHOMME Matthieu. Original plate from the album Texas Cowboys, volume 1, published in 2012 by Dupuis and pre-published in Spirou magazine, from a script by Lewis Trondheim. A particularly dynamic and energetic composition, structured around an action scene: the first two rows of the plate form a large panoramic panel breaking down the gesture of a cowboy firing at a snake. A fine example of Matthieu Bonhomme's mastery of movement and narrative framing, which gives this scene all its vitality. Born in Paris in 1973, Matthieu Bonhomme is one of the leading authors of contemporary Franco-Belgian comic art. A draughtsman with an elegant and expressive style, he is notably known for Le Voyage d'Esteban, Le Marquis d'Anaon, Texas Cowboys and his albums dedicated to Lucky Luke. His work has been awarded several times at the Angoulême International Comics Festival, notably with the prize for best first album in 2003, the Intergenerations prize in 2010 and the public prize in 2017. 28x21cm. sold framed 44x34cm.
