Russian Empire, Saint Petersburg, extremely rare 56 zolotnik parasol (14K gold), circa 1860, by Samuel Arndt, one of the finest silversmiths of the period, known for supplying the imperial court. Ivory body, ebony structure. A similar example is held in the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg. 201.3 grams; 71 cm long. A new silk covering can easily be fitted by a professional, since the structure is in perfect condition. Inv: G26355
