A wonderful gilded silver pill box, made by one of the finest silversmiths of the Russian Empire, supplier to the imperial court, Alexander Lubavin. Imperial hallmark 84 zolotnik (875 silver), accompanied by a mark from the city of Saint Petersburg, circa 1890. Lid engraved "Virginie 1896". 50 mm in diameter, 24 mm thick; 57.3 grams Inv: G26296
