Switzerland, Geneva, French occupation under Napoleon, Two Francs AN 13 G made into a box.

AN13 / 1804

Description

Switzerland, Geneva, French occupation under Napoleon, Two Francs AN 13 G made into a box. An extremely rare and iconic coin for Geneva. The French coinage struck in Geneva during the Departement de Leman is extremely rare, the few coins that do appear on the market are usually heavily circulated. This example was emptied out and transformed into a box shortly after it was struck and hence preserves the details, that have never before been encountered. If this coin was not modified, it would have been by far the best known preserved specimen. 6.23 grams Inv: 5998D251N297
