An extraordinary sterling silver bird with ruby eyes by Tane Mexico. This is possibly a Mexican Jay or Blue Mockingbird. An almost identical bird has been presented to Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of her State Visit to Mexico in February 1983 by President Miguel de la Madrid Hurtado. The weight is 1039 grams of sterling silver, 22.5 cm high.
