Original undated lithograph (late 1960s-early 1970s) by Eugène Paul, known as Gen Paul (1895-1975) with oil pastel highlights. A great figure of French expressionism and an emblematic character of Montmartre, Gen Paul is also a war hero, the theme of this work. He was even awarded the Legion of Honour for his military actions. This work shows a soldier dying in the arms of one of his comrades, holding a French flag in his hands, a church in the background. Size: 37x27cm, frame 52x41.5cm.
