Silver medal issued on the occasion of the freezing of the Geneva harbour in 1891, by Hugues Bovy. View of the frozen harbor seen through the goléran of the Eaux-Vives jetty. Date and engraver’s name in the exergue / Inscription in six lines within a circle of frozen ropes. Coat of arms and motto above. Smooth edge. Diameter 71.0 mm; 163.56 g. Wund. 3129; Martin 65. Very Rare. The issue of this medal was the result of a private initiative. Only 10 examples were struck in silver. The complete freezing of the harbor had not been observed since 1854.
