CGN Paddlewheel bolt from the Lake Geneva boat Major-Davel 1892-1966. Sold as a souvenir when the boat was decommissioned. The bolt is attached to a piece of wood also taken from the boat. Length 16cm Height 8cm The Major Davel was a prestigious paddle steamer operated by the Compagnie Générale de Navigation sur le lac Léman (CGN). Commissioned in 1892, she served for several decades, becoming an emblematic vessel of the fleet. In 1966, the decision was taken to withdraw the Major Davel from active service. Despite this, she made a commemorative cruise to celebrate her 75th anniversary in 1967. Her navigation license expired in February 1968, marking the end of her operational life. Inv: 5998D251N22
